On Friday 7 April 2017, the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres urged restraint to avoid any escalation of the situation in Syria,after the United States responded militarily to an alleged chemical weapons attack earlier this week. He said that he was following the situation in Syria closely and with grave concern.
In her opening statement of her intervention , Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga said that, the lack of economic empowerment of women in today's changing world of work is a fundamental impediment to achieving parity of status between both men and women which we congregate here at the United Nations every year to deliberate upon and attempt to achieve.
