DEPUTY SPEAKER OF THE 11.th PARLIAMENT RT. HON. THOMAS TAYEBWA PAYS A VISIT TO THE MISSION

Thursday, June 23, 2022.The Permanent Mission of Uganda to the United Nations concluded the week with an elevated level of the Mission's symbolic victories. The deputy Speaker of the 11.th Parliament paid a working visit while the mission was jubilating for a significant victory. Ms. Brenda Akia had merged as one of the victors. to hold a key position at the UN for defending Women's rights (CEDAW)

THE REPUBLIC OF UGANDA AND THE FEDERATION OF SAINT CHRISTOPHER (SAINT. KITTS) AND NEVIS HAVE ESTABLISHED DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS.

The Republic of Uganda and the Federation of Saint Christopher (Saint. Kitts) and Nevis have established Diplomatic Relations.

The two countries were represented by their Permanent Representatives to the United Nations in New York at the signing ceremony at Uganda House, New York.

THE 66TH SESSION COMMISSION OF THE STATUS OF WOMEN

The sixty-sixth session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW66) that has been concluded today 25th March 2022 began14th march at the UN headquarters in New York. This was the first in-person meeting of the CSW since the 2019 Session. Due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, CSW66 took place in a hybrid format with all side events in a virtual set up while the main meetings were held in-person in the General Assembly Hall with a limited access per delegation.

The Permanent Representative of the Republic of Algeria to the United Nations, H.EMr. Mohamed Ennadir Larbaoui, paid a courtesy call on the Permanent Representative of Uganda to the UN , H.E Ambassador Adonia Ayebare.
 
Later , the same afternoon, the permanent Representative of the Sultanate of  Oman to the United Nations , H.E Ambassador Mohamed Al- Hassan, also paid a  similar call to his counterpart .

Uganda's High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria arrives in Abuja.

Uganda's High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, also accredited to other ECOWAS Member States and Equatorial Guinea, Ambassador Ocheger Nelson, has arrived at Abuja to take up his post. This follows the meeting he attended recently at State House Entebbe in which His Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni briefed the newly appointed envoys on what the country expected from them.
