Amb. Kintu Nyago

Deputy Permanent Representative
Kintu Nyago was born in 1960, in Kampala city but mainly grew up in contemporary  Wakiso District. He was  appointed into the Diplomatic Service,  by H.E the President Y.K Museveni, as  Ambassador and Deputy Permanent Representative of Uganda's Mission to the United Nations, New York, in August 2012.
Prior H.E the President  had  appointed him  Commissioner in the Office of the President in  Charge of  Promoting Patriotism Amongst Schooling Youths and soon after dutifully served  as Deputy Principal Private Secretary to H.E the President of Uganda.

He is a political scientist who tutored undergraduate students at  Rhodes University, Grahamstown, Eastern Cape, South Africa and also lectured post graduate students at Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi. He is a Senior Lecturer at Uganda's National Leadership Institute, Kyankwanzi , where he has been involved in the training of national leaders, politicians, including Parliamentarians  and senior public servants.

He contributed  to the institutionalization of Uganda's 1995 Constitution, through a civic advocacy and training  organization he founded, with others,  The Forum for the Promotion of Democratic Constitutionalism. And through research and documentation in a Pan African  monthly journal he founded and edited  with others, Contemporary Africa Review. 

He is a respected  regular political columnist in the Ugandan mainstream print media, this in addition to regularly providing authoritative political commentary, on Ugandan and African issues in leading Ugandan and international  audio and visual media channels. 
Amb. Nyago is a Pan Africanist and was appointed member the National Commission to Promote the Political Federation of the East African Community. This was a Government of Uganda body established through a directive of the East African Community Summit of Heads of States.

He has a passion for promoting  social justice, amongst the vulnerable and has been at the forefront of advocating for the eradication of the feudal Mailo land tenure system in Uganda. And is a member of the Presidential Land Task Force. 
Amb. Nyago graduated from Uganda Teachers College, Kyambogo with an Higher Diploma is Education. Obtained his undergraduate degree, in Social Sciences (Political Science 3.1.1) from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda, and  Post Graduate degree in International Relations, from Rhodes University, South Africa.
He is married with children.
