DUAL CITIZENSHIP IN THE DIASPORA

Monday, 27th August 2018 The Permanent representative of Uganda to the United Nations in New York, Ambassador Adonia Ayebare sponsored a workshop conducted by a delegation from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The workshop was coordinated by the Mission in conjunction with Ms. Ms. Florence Kiremerwa, the Special Presidential Assistant on diaspora.  

The delegation was welcome by the Deputy Head of Mission, Ambassador Philip Odida and delivered the Head of Missionís message.

Diasporians in United States and Canada to test and verified Ugandaís Ministry of Internal Affairs, delivering on two of the many commitments to bring services near to them. 
The delegation was Headed by the Paramagnet Secretary Ministry of Internal Affairs Dr. Benon M. Mutebi. Among the departments represented; the National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) offering a chance for Ugandans to register an apply for the National ID; Uganda Immigrations headed by Josephine Ekwang Ali is the acting Director of Citizenship and Immigration, Mrs. Josephine Ekwang Ali deliberated on sensitizing Ugandans about realization of the importance of their Nationality as a foundation to their involvement in National development, investment opportunities and unlimited access to the national Resources.

 A couple of Ugandans families and individuals were awarded their certificates of Dual Citizenship ; Bank Of Uganda was represented among others by Joanita Kamuli Baluba , the Deputy Director of Agricultural Credit Facility (ACF). 
Ugandans traveled all from far and neighboring states, as far as Texas to attend this interactive occasion.
