UGANDA SHOWCASES TANGIBLE ACCOUNTABILITY FROM IRISH GOVERNMENT SUPPORT

Wednesday 13th March: Uganda's Ministry of Gender , Labour and Social Development in conjunction with the Embassy of the Ireland held two concurrent Side Events as part of the ongoing CSW63 (2019).
One part deliberated on Social Protection Systems for Women and Girls Empowerment where Uganda has scored a a lot of success with financial assistance from the Irish Goverenment. It was an excellent illustration of  how Social Assistance Grants for Empowerment has triggered Community Activism against Female Genital Mutalation in Uganda.  A  documentary was used to assist in the illustration. 

In the General Assembly building, the Head of Budget Monitoring and Accountability Unit at the Ministry of Finance of Uganda, Mrs. Margarret Kakande, deliberated on "Reshaping Resources in support of Equality Goals". 

The representative of the Irish Governement affirmed the success registered and acknowledged the vast experience with applause for  Uganda's pilot undertakings.
