UPDATE ON THE STATUS OF NATIONAL ID APPLICATIONS

The Permanent Mission of Uganda to the United Nations in New York has been notified on the status of  the applications for the Uganda National Identity Cards for those Ugandans that submitted their applications to National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) at Uganda House in New York. (19th -20th October 2021)
Those whose status reflects "Pending issuance- Notification Sent"  will be informed in due course on when they will be available for pickup at the Mission.

DEATH ANNOUNCEMENT

Friday, 13th February 2015

Mr. Shariita passed away at 11:15pm on Friday February 13th 2015 at the New York University Hospital in New York, following a long battle with Cancer. He has been attached to this Mission as Minister Counsellor and Police Adviser in Charge of United Nations Police Peacekeeping Matters. 
There will be a short memorial service at  Trinity St. Paulí»s Episcopal Church, 311 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle, NY 10801 on Monday February 16th from 3:00-5:00pm (tbc).
His body shall be repatriated to Uganda for burial at his ancestral home in Kyankukwe Mitooma. Further details will follow.
Mr. Julius Shariita will be greatly missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time and our hearts and prayers go out to them.
